Appropriate Wiki Language: (mm)
Since this Wiki is part of our class, the same rules for classroom appropriate language apply here:
  • Please do not use profanity. Do not use rude or otherwise inappropriate language. (sw)
  • Take your writing seriously. Just as you would not use slang or texting abbreviations in a writing assignment for class, do not use casual language here.
  • When responding to others' writing, please be respectful and constructive in your comments.

Content of the Wiki: (SEllam)
  • Please be specific when commenting to another student or upon another student's work. Remember, he/she cannot read your mind, so your comments must be articulate and clear.
  • Similar to the idea of using appropriate language, remember that you must use the correct rules of grammar. When responding to someone else, please use complete sentences.
  • Develop your responses.
  • Avoid vague statements or questions.
  • Avoid one-liners like "That's cool" or "Sounds interesting" (CSG)

Respect in our Wiki: (MAB)
  • All students should feel free to express their opinions and thoughts freely. Be respectful of others.
  • The ideas and perspectives of others are as valid as any other individuals and deserve the same respect that one would give to the person. This includes ideas one would disagree with. (Wilander)
  • Treat others the way you want to be treated.
  • Make sure the words you post are your own.
  • Remember when adding to classmates post, keep their original thoughts, ideas, or suggestions intact. Add relevant information that will contribute to the original idea. (KC)
*
Disagreements are a healthy piece of any worthwhile discussion. When arguing/discussing differences of opinion, be sure to argue the ideas while maintaining respect for the individuals in the discussion. (MGreco)
*
Do not post someone else’s name to your comments. If you work with someone, feel free to include both of your names. (MGreco)
  • Do not leave the text editor open for long periods of time, as others will not be able to contribute. (MGreco)
